7730 PCM and Datamaster
Any tips on getting these two to play nice? I have a 12-pin ALDL from http://www.aldlcable.com/sc/details.asp?item=aldlobd1u and Datamaster 3.4.1. No matter what I do, I can't get these two to communicate. Datamaster reads the ALDL cable, but will give me a "error 2" when testing, and just constantly recycle when I try to monitor my PCM.
is there something I'm missing?

It may be that the ECM is bad. In cases such as this need to try the cable on another vehicle to verify that it is OK. If it is, then try a different ECM in your vehicle.
Although, I noticed that you cloned a TPI B4C from an RS. They possibly use a different pin on the ALDL connector. If you didn't move it, then need to move pin E to location M on the ALDL connector.
E is for 160 baud TBI set ups, while pin M is 8192 baud for '90 - '92 TPI & MPFI set ups. So if it was previously TBI, need to move the pin. If it was previously a 3.1l MPFI, the pin is already in M. So we're back to further testing.

How married are you to DataMaster? I feel that TunerPro RT works much easier and gives much more. TunerPro RT is free after a 10 second nag screen so the price is right.
I sell ALDL cables. Download my install disk at http://redddevilriver.com/aldl.html
Go to the bottom of the page and click the yellow box to download the .zip file. Follow the install procedures. TunerPro RT (free version) is on the disk. You can also download TunerPro from http://tunerpro.net. The thing you for sure want from my install disk however are the definition files.
5.7 or 5.0
