EBL_flash on Trucks
Hey I see yall have allot of support here for Dynamic's stuff.
I want to help out a friend and discuss his set-up on a 94/95 throttle body truck, I know this is a third gen site will I be to far out of line?

Re: EBL_flash on Trucks
Does he have the EBL Flash installed? Or is he more interested in what it takes to install and use the EBL Flash system?

Hey RBob,
He doesn't have it, I recommended it to him and was going to try to help him out.
I have been learning a little on a holley set-up I have and though I might know enough to get myself into trouble then be able to get out of it.
What he was telling me is that he rebuilt the engine and put a cam in it (not a big one from what I can tell but definitely not stock). It runs great when cold and like crap once up to temp. I told him that we might be able to use EBL to go in and bump up the the VE table to work with the cam. However I don't know enough about throttle bodies to be 100% sure that it will support the table adjustments. I have been poking around the site and read about the BB TBI swap... So just looking for a cost effective way to get his truck running better without getting him in over his head.

Re: EBL_flash on Trucks
OK, if he already had it installed the DIY_PROM board here has quite a bit of info on tuning and such.
Since he doesn't have one (yet), the install may be easy, or not so easy. This depends mostly upon which transmission is in the vehicle. If an E automatic then need to retain the stock PCM to run it.
Then piggy back the EBL Flash ECM into the EFI harness to run the engine. To do this two harness connectors get added, and the engine control wires/terminals get moved over to the new connectors.
Some sensors are shared so get spliced into and run to both sets of connectors (the PCM's and the EBL's). In the case of piggybacking it is best to email me. I can reply with more detailed information on doing this.
If there is a stick transmission then odds are the ECM is one of the seventeen listed on the EBL Flash product page. In this case the EBL Flash ECM is plug & play with the stock ECM.

Re: EBL_flash on Trucks
Guess, I stepped in over my head I was thinking it was more plug and play... I overlooked the transmission control.
If it were my truck I would probably take on the challenge, but not comfortable doing that to someone else's yet. It would be worth it to get real time IMO. But for his sake would it be better to shoot for data log and figure out how to chip burn?
