I finished my 950 install and now it won't start. So heres a quick synopsis on what I did.

Commander 950 with complete main harness
Innovate LM-2 wideband kit Added MAP sensor since I was MAF

Right now the car starts and then dies. I have tried several base maps with the same results. The car ran fine before I removed the factory ECM. Its a mostly stock 350 has a mild cam in it nothing that shouldn't stop it from running at least on a base map.

I have checked fuel pressure all ok. ECM power from OEM ecm power along with the pink/blk from under the dash for ignition. I am using a MSD 6al but it uses oe wires pink and white from the other harness.

 

When it does start, how long before it dies?

 

Turn the key cranks for a couple of secs sounds like its gonna start. Only starts for a sec or two. I can get it to start for a another second or two by playing with the fuel map but ive gone up to 50 and down to 1 in the idle area and not much of a change. I have also disconnected the distributor plug for timing and it made no difference.

 

Ok so after further testing today it is defiantly fuel related. I was able to get it to run a little longer by adding starting fluid. So spark is good and fuel pressure is good. I am probably missing something stupid just dont know what it is yet.

 

Can you email a copy of the base map and a datalog. I will PM it to you. Have a feeling it may be something to do with IAC.

 

I doubt it, have you checked timing during cranking? it's either that or fuel supply once the engine has fired.
And I hope you got both cheap, the Innovate and Commander 950 are slow and antiquated.

also try starting it with the map disconnected.........i had a similar problem with my megasquirt for a little while till i figured it out....now the car will run with it connected after doing some tweaking

 

I got it to run!!! I found the MAP KPa load scale was not set right. But I did find out if you use non Holley pro base files the data gets corrupted when opened with the pro software. So I am now rebuilding my files with the pro base maps. Not sure how I got the old ones when I downloaded them from the Holley site.

I am sure I will be back for some tuning help..

I know this post is from 2014 but I wanted to touch base and see if you ever got it running. I recently installed a 950 and cant keep i idling long either. Thought maybe whatever you did could help me out also.

I would need more details about your setup to try to help. I'm by far no expert but Ill try to help. The holley forums are great help and the 950 manual is excellent as well. I read that manual over and over again.
