ECM #?
ECM #?
Hey guys-I just bought an ecm--says it's a reman unit-part # 01226870--supposedly an ecm from an 87 GTA. I opened it up and there's a cal pak in it--Not a reg. prom.
One of them says 9850 on it. Not sure if that's the right term for it--but there isn't just one prom in it. Can anyone tell me what I have here? I tried to look up the #'s w/no luck. The ecm looks like the unit from my 84 turbo Buick! Any and all help appreciated!!

Wrong ECM. That is for a 1985 TPI, which is different (and inferior) to the "165" used in the 1986-1989 MAF TPI cars. Return it, and ask for your money to be refunded, plain and simple. It is of no use to you, and frankly, you don't want to use it unless you have a 1985 TPI and want to just replace it.
On the DIY Prom Board, due to the limited info on the 1985 TPI "860", most guys convert either to the later "165" MAF ECM or outright convert to the "730" SD ECM.
