1227747 VATS bypass?

1227747 VATS bypass?

I'm new to computer/FI cars.
I have a 1992 Camaro RS 305/5spd that I bought from a neighbor that has not run in at least 5 years. I do not have the original resistor key. The starter engages when the key is turned, looks like the starter relay is bypassed to the clutch safety switch.
I have read that the 1227747 does not have VATS. Can I pull the chip from the 1227747 ECM and replace the one in the Camaro to enable the fuel pump and get the car to start and run?
Would I be better off going the Moates and EPROM?

They are not compatible, so that won't work.

Are you looking to just get the car to start and run, or actually drive?

Initially trying to get it to run so that I can see what I have to work with. Later this summer I will replace the engine with a L31 and stay with the FI if it works or else go to a carb.

If limp home mode is enough, you can just pull the chip out. That is what I did when the VATS module failed on my 92 to just move it around the driveway. Downside is that you can't pull any codes or anything like that. Next cheapest option is to buy a bunch of resistors and go through the combos until you find the right one (assuming the module is ok).

That is a good idea for now. I'll be able to see what works and what need to be replaced mechanically. Is getting the Moates adaptor and a new EPROM burned the next thing I should be planning?

Depends on what you want to spend. I think most people would suggest you get an EBL setup: http://www.dynamicefi.com/EBL_Flash.php

To get the TBI setup working correctly under a L31 is going to require a pretty descent amount of tuning and the EBL setup will simplify that greatly.

Pulled the chip. Engine turns over, but won't start. No fuel to the injectors. Power to the pump fuse and I can hear the relay engage, but no fuel. Nothing happens when I jump the G test circuit.
Bad pump?

Sounds like a good possibility. Sitting for 5 years the gas may have gone bad and ruined the fuel pump so even if that wasn't originally an issue, it could be now.

I cut a hatch into the trunk to access the pump rather than dropping the diff etc. All of the internet videos show some fuel line connectors just past the bend in the lines. I don't see any connectors, probably a cost savings by GM.
Am I missing something?
Any way to cut through grouped metal lines without sparks?
Any and all advice is welcome.
Should this post be moved to a different tech board?

You have to cut the lines. Imho, you should of just done it right instead if hacking a hole...
