ECM location

I have a 1984 Camaro Z28 305 carb and I'm looking for the ECM location. There is a black plastic box mounted on the other side of the passenger dash area but it looks like a box that controls the AC unit or something. It only has one plug going to to it. From the research ive done it should be a silver metal casing mounted somewhere around there with a couple plugs. Is the 84 305 carb different from the look of a 85-92 fuel injected style?

Thanks for help
