Ecm conversion help

Hello, I aquired a mostly finished 89 convertible. It has a new 383 with the tpi from a 1992 iroc. I am trying to finish up and will be needing a tune. I took the ecm out to see what i have and am confused by what i see. Excuse my ignorance but im new to tpi swaps. please see pics . Thanks in advance.
Im not sure what this writing means.

The memcal is missing the prom. The new tune is on the expansion board. This ecm was used in tpi 90-92 speed density.

Thank you for your help! So the chip that is on the expansion board is the prom? Is that what used to be in the empty socket? If thats not the case how do i get a tune and on what?

Re: Ecm conversion help

The sockets not stock but yeh there use to be a prom there now there's a eeprom on the expansion board. The best way to get a tune might be to use a g1 from moates.net and remove the nvsram or look into the older tunerpro rt I think it was supported with that program.

Re: Ecm conversion help

Thanks again. It looks like ill be continuing my research. Im still not exactly sure about this mess. Is this completely different than a normal chip? Can a place like sinister tune these as well? Am i better off ripping this out and getting a prom or new ecu? This is just not an issue i expected to run into.

Re: Ecm conversion help

If your going with a piggyback chip you can remove the nvsram and use the memcal and a piggyback board.
