Chip for Stock TPI Motor - Who is Best?
I know several companies make them. Heard of Fastchip, Jet, Hypertech and PCMFORLESS. Fastchip is $350, PCMFORLESS is $500 and the others are around $150. I saw in old postings that PCMFORLESS was like $150 but not anymore I guess as I was told it would be $500 for chip/tune. Are these companies relatively comparable for a stock chip?
My car is an 85 305 tpi that is relatively stock with 52k on it. I have catback exhaust, plan to do underdrive pulleys and the hawks ram air. No belts on smog pump and AC. Other then that its untouched.

Jet and Hypertech don't really do much. They'll make some minor tweaks at WOT, and you "might" feel a slight difference during WOT. I wouldn't spend the money.
PCMforLESS will actually burn a chip based on your specific specs. They also will tweak the tuning a little more than the off the shelf chips mentioned above. Think of it kinda like a stock chip, but for the minor upgrades you have. I installed one when I upgraded exhaust, injectors and torque converter. Didn't feel much of a difference, but it was there. They also do in house dyno tuning, so don't confuse that with mail order. TOTALLY different.
EDIT - I think FASTCHIPS does the same thing PCMFORLESS does. I'd probably give one of these two a call and see if they can help you out. ...maybe read some datalogs etc. etc. -read below
Are you planning on doing more down the road, or are your current mods it? (LOL, of COURSE there will be more). Honestly, I think the best thing you can do, assuming a 100% all out, EVERY single HP tune isn't required is to find someone who will read your datalogs via email and do a few tunes to get you pretty close. It requires you to get some equipment, and you have to be patient, email some datalogs etc. etc., but you'll get a good tune and you'll LEARN a lot about your engine...what it's doing and how to read and diagnose the information that you now have access to, long after the tuning is finalized.
