Stock Chip or Ed Wright's Chip until I can burn my own???

I have a feeling that I'm not going to be able to have my own chip burned by the time I finish my 383 TPI! I've been told that I'd be better off with my stock chip as opposed to a Hypertech chip because they suck!! My question is this.....would I be better off with my stock chip or a chip from fastchip.com until I am able to burn my own?? I've heard that Ed Wright knows what he's doing and afterall, fastchip did win the '97 custom chip "shoot-out"!?! Any insight on this would be greatly appreciated!!

Why not get a stock eprom, buy the eraser and programmer, read the BIN and then have someone make an adjustment to compensate for the larger displacement?

This will be: 1) the cheapest overall solution, 2) gets you the major hardware you need to burn your own eproms and 3) steps you up to the "plate" to start burning your own eproms.

If you buy a custom eprom, it will get you close to what you want, but it is a "sunk cost". In that, I mean that if you are truly going to get into eprom burning it will be money that will go down the drain and does nothing to get you closer to your goal (eprom burning).

If you are terrified to make the actual changes; if you read your BIN, email it to me and send me the $20.00 so I can purchase the required TDF from TunerCat (I do not own the TDF that you require and this is just the cost to get the TDF...I actually don't make a red cent on this), I can get you over that hump. But you must get the UV eraser and eprom programmer so I can do it by just e-mailing the BIN.

If you are interested in this possibility, send me an e-mail to avoid cluttering up the PROM board.
