megasquirt died?

guys I got a problem... this will be my second diy ecm solution that has failed.me. Getting g a bit expensive Well this one is on the megasquirt 2. The car ran previous year..... then put into storage. Now the fuel pump will not prime... it's a brand new walbro unit.... I ran a 12 lead to it just to see if it would work..... pump started running.
My catch 22 on all of this is..... I no longer speak to the guy who installed it ( half *** install was one of the reasons) and I am partially disabled... so diagnosis is a real problem for me.... getting around in the car etc is a real bugger.... also car is stored for winter. I went through some threads and am having a real problem finding any product support for this... getting desperate as now the car sits... I tried getting a hold of some guy who supposedly support the product.... but is really hard to get a hold of and I had a real hard time trusting mailing my ecm to a guy who won't respond to my emails... or answer basic questions... l
am at a loss.... don't want to scrap all of this and half to go to a fast unit..... as I am a little short on funds at this point to plop down that cost..... and install costs for a fast multiport unit

appreciate any help

Just to confirm, you're stating that the fuel pump is not priming only, however it is in fact triggering with the 12 lead, as well as triggers during engine cranking, just not priming with key on, correct? If so, how do you have your prime pulse set in the bin in Tuner Studio for and during the initial starting, and did you check for functionality with your fuel pump relay...?

Re: megasquirt died?

Start with basics:

Have you checked fuses that power the unit and other EFI related circuits? Have you verified that there is power at this fuses, even if they look good?

Can you communicate with the ECU through Tuner Studio?

Also, where in Ontario are you, I'm in Southern Ontario, and seem to be the guy to clean up other people's messes...

Re: megasquirt died?

all.... I did was run a lead off of the battery and literally just ran it to the fuel pump plug under the car ( was in a pit) .... not even for a second, just to see if the pump would react..... yes maybe dumb... but figured with my lack of knowledge.. was all I could do at the time to know if pump was shot

to state... I had this installed by another and am totally at a loss on circuit names etc. God I used to know everything about this car.... this is very frustrating.

Sixshooter... I am down by Kitchener / Waterloo.... for now car is buried.... but I can yank the ecm out,
and again thanx for replying guys..... this is the first light I have seen at the end of the tunnel

D's89IROCZ... I'm not far from you then in Brantford.

If you want to have someone take a look and see what's going on, let me know. It could be something simple, but trying to diagnose custom installs like this through the interweb can be difficult, at the very least takes a long while, especially if you're not the one that installed and tuned it.

Re: megasquirt died?

tis a shame.... it ran.... ran strong..... but head-gasket blew.... got that repaired immediately... then had car parked....

Man I would love ya to come check it out with me..... you will shake your head at the **** poor install... but it ran.... as far as tune.... who knows I was kinda at this guys mercy.... he got all software, diagrams, etc.
Tell ya what.... come spring time I am in.... as the car has been parked at a friends for the winter and I don't want to put you through digging around there lol. Would be sweet if I could just yank out the ecm and bench test it somehow
