Ford Fuel Injector?
Hi:
I took the fuel Injectors out of my GTA and they are FORD. Why somebody put FORD injectors in a GM GTA? I'm Lost.
Is their any benefit from this?
Should I swap back to a GM LIke Injectors?
What Injectors should I use if I decide to replace them?

Re: Ford Fuel Injector?
It was not running good. I don't know if the injector are the cause but I sent them today to SouthBay to have them check.
Thanks for the info.

I would put your money in replacing them. If you have them cleaned and flow tested that might run $10 -$15 or so each. Refurbished 22#her are $166. If you mention your a tgo member I think you get a 5-10% discount.

OK I agree with you.
I already talk with South Bay and they are willing to do it any way I like.
If I'm replacing them what would you suggest I get? Remember that I don't min sending you my chip to be tune for them if your suggestion required it.

Re: Ford Fuel Injector?
The tuning would be a multiple tune process requiring you to datalog.
If you buy the equipment I would assist. You would need to get moates.net
G1 a few sst27sf512 eeproms a burn 2 and the extreme aldl with cable. This would cost you a few hundred dollars and your ecm is problematic to connect to just the nature of the 1227165 ecm.
I would look into there fuel rail o-ring kit and gasket kit if you can’t get these locally.

Re: Ford Fuel Injector?
This thread is stupid. The is nothing wrong with Ford supplied Bosch injectors. Even though they are GEN 1, they work.
The issue is not the injectors but the tune. Get the tune set up for those injectors and the engine will run great.
And yes, the Ford/Bosch red tops are basically a 30 lb/hr injector. Unless tuned for they won't run worth damn.
RBob.

Re: Ford Fuel Injector?
Just because an injector is stamped Ford means absolutely nothing. They are made by bosch. Injectors are used in multiple applications. As long as they have the same flow rate and resistance most injectors can be used in any application.

Re: Ford Fuel Injector?
It was not my intention to make a stupid question. I didn't know that Buch made injectors for all cars and keep the Ford Logo.

Re: Ford Fuel Injector?
The apyu is stock for your 89 350 automatic 3.27 axle ratio.
The apyu looks to be all stock not modified.
There was a update but I don’t think there was any running issues with the apyu. The newer calibration is aujm.
The Hypertech is a aftermarket but would not be programmed to account for the 30#hr injectors.

Re: Ford Fuel Injector?
For the record, my 89 Iroc, 5.7L with 2.77 ran GREAT, and even passed NC emissions YEARS ago with 24# Bosch/Ford injectors and the Hypertech chip.
Agree that Bosch/Ford makes no difference.
Agree that flow rate and matching tune matters.
Hypertech is basically stock. -at least for the sake of this convo
All things being equal, I'd get 22/24/stock flow injectors BEFORE tuning a stock engine to run on 30 pound injectors. -although I DO agree it would run just fine if you did. -That being said, if tuning is something you're interested in, then sure, might as well keep the 30 pounders and jump in. ....but if the intent to to simply keep a stock engine running right.....I'd swap injectors. The more things you keep stock the better, for you or anyone else who may have this car.
