Prom Swap
Prom Swap
Service #16198445. Taking the Prom from my 87' GTA and using it in this ECM. The Prom # was DELCO AUXF 3766 In this 87' Corvette ECM. The GTA Prom # isDELCO ABWT 8674. Seems I counted 31 not 32 pins in the Corvette ECM. Could this be a problem? Thanks for your time.

Re: Prom Swap
Not sure what pins you are counting, but a '8445 ECM ('7165), is a '8445 ECM. The application it was used in doesn't matter.
Note that the information I have shows AUXF being for a small truck with a TBI 4-banger.
RBob.

Re: Prom Swap
Counting the Pins that the Prom attaches too. Swapped it over and hoping to just plug the ECM back in and all will be good for a test drive. Anything else that I need to know? Thanks.

Re: Prom Swap
If you counted the pins on the PROM itself and came up with 31, you miscounted. There will be an even number of pins.

Ok.Swapped the Prom and flashed her up. Seemed to run alot smoother for a few minutes, till nice and warm .Shut it off and won't fire again. Have to leave for a while before it will fire again. Will run ,but quits after a few seconds now. Have not checked the spark yet. Any Ideas?
