Re: Code 41
If you pull the prom to reseat it be careful the pins damage easily. You might want to look at the service number and look on eBay for a replacement ecm.
There should be 3 letters on the service tag or on the chip. These letters identify the prom vehicle application engine size, transmission type. Other codes will work for the same application and if listed I can identify them if you need. No way I know to test the ecm and little support for the prom.

Re: Code 41
Here is the reason for code 41:
41- no distributor signals to ecm, or faulty ignition module ( carbed models)
There is someone else here that has been fighting this code for quite a while. Can't find his thread but IIRC he is from either Great Briton or Germany.
I posted the troubleshooting of this code in his thread. The baro sensor plays an important role. The ECM uses it to know whether the engine is running or not.

Re: Code 41
had ignition module tested it said it was ok but going to replace anyway. The connector with capacitor that connect to module
was pretty much toast looks like it got real hot the insulating cover fell into pieces. Had to order that part. Just to keep you informed.
Thanks Again for the advice.

Re: Code 41
Got back together seem to be problem in a way the knock I have been hearing is coming from the distributer.
will distributer pull out ok or do I need to know anything special and I have heard you have to disconnect a wire somewhere to reset
timing since it does not use a vacuum advance.
Thanks
