Ecm grounding out.
Been chasing a weird issue with my car where the whole car would act like it’s cutting out and was thinking it was a bad coil or ignition related but it ended up being that somehow when my ecm housing touches Metal it would short out and cause havoc and eventually kill the car.
i haven’t had this issue until recently. What would cause the ecm to short out or ground out when touching a metal part of the car? All my grounds are in place.

Re: Ecm grounding out.
You are creating a ground loop, the ECM case is already grounded to the engine block via the EFI harness. Also check that the firewall to block ground strap is in place. And be sure to install the ECM back into it's slide mount, so that it is isolated from the chassis.
