i don't remember, are the turn signals/4 ways a separate set of lights from the brake lights, or do the turn signals/4 ways use the same lights as your brake lights?
if they use the same lights & your turn signals & 4 ways work right without bowing the fuse but the brakes lights blow it right away, you either have a problem down near the brake light switch or the turn signal switch is bad. odds are it will be your T/S switch.

nah the turns sig. switch and the 4 way switch is separate. the brake lights and the 4ways are on the same fuse though and when u use the brakes after installing a new fuse it blows but not when u use the 4ways. i know its in the brake light system somewheres but dont know where. i was just wondering if anyone has has this happen to them before? if the brake light switch goes bad will it blow the fuse??? thanks for the input

im talking about the lights on the back of the car, are your turn signals/4 way lights the same lights as your brake lights?
i have never seen the brake light switch blow the fuse, but i guess it is possible but very unlikely.

ok, first thing i would do is pull all the brake light bulbs & check inside the sockets & wiring, if everything looks ok in the sockets & wiring, with the bulbs all still out turn the key on & hit the brake petal & see if it pops the fuse. if it does not pop the fuse replace the light bulbs.
if it does pop it then check the wiring harness in the back of the car for any cuts, insulation being rubbed through where it goes
around or through any metal. also check to see if anything such as the jack or something may have damaged the wiring.

Instead of going through a lot of fuses try making a light or a buzzer to plug in the fuse slot(this is most common method of diagnosing shorts) b/c you are installing resistance in the circiut you temporarily make a new circuit, the short being your ground!!! a buzzer works best because you dont have to keep looking for the light to see if youve found the problem. Now since the short is after the brake switch (if it was before it would blow the fuse as soon as you put it in) push the brake pedal down with a section of broom handle or something against your seat, (don't damage your seat), now the buzzer should be activated. now start removing things from the circuit starting from the farthest point and working closer, if the buzzer stops when you disconnect something or a section of harness your problem is in this area, correct it and then not discrediting multiple problems, leave the buzzer in and reassemble the circuit in reverse order, if the buzzer stays off, your G2G. check this out if to help http://www.autozone.com/servlet/UiBr...3d80163fb5.jsp
also remember the stop light circuit is hot at all times wether the key is on or off, leave it off in order to save your battery, you may need to connect a battery charger if it gonna take a while, and that your light bulbs will get hot enough to to melt the light fixtures if left on long enough( ecspecially the center high mount)

Funny I found this one!!!!! I've owned the car over 12 years now and the brake lights always blow fuses!!!!!! My running lights work, but as of late my turn signals have failed. I've changed the turn signal flasher in the "convenience center" that's not so convenient !!! (Behind the radio) and they still don't work I was hoping that I didn't have to rip the car apart to find the answer...... I think that I may try the brake switch as I've gone through all of my lights and the wires that I can see....... I even switched the brake lights over to LED's hoping that it was just a filament touching each other!
Hope someone can let us see the LIGHT!!!!!
