Looking for opinion before pulling trigger on stock memcal
Hello friends!
I've been chasing computer issues on my car since I first bought it. I know it has an aftermarket chip/tune due to a new TB among who knows what else.
The guy who sold it wasnt very comprehensive about any upgrades.
Anyways, would it be advisable to have a stock chip so I can plug it in and try to get her running properly under controlled circumstances?
It's sort of expensive for the one I need, and I only could find a single one for sale.
What do yall say?

Might work, or it might run like complete garbage (or even not at all) depending on the "unknown" upgrades. You may have a chip burned that bypasses the VATS for example. Or compensates for significantly different injectors.
The best thing to do would be to pay a competent tuner to dyno tune the car using the existing chip adapter, etc after confirming that it is mechanically sound.
Rules of tuning:
1. Verify that it is mechanically sound. Vacuum leaks, base timing, TPS and minimum idle air properly set.
2. Give the engine what it wants.
3. Buy injectors with published data.
Seriously. That's my top 3.

Thanks for the tips, it might be better to put my money there...
I just pulled out my ECM and found a loose wire... Have any idea where this goes?
