ECM NOT WORKING?!??

Hello lady’s and gentlemen. Was wondering if anyone has a firebird 1986 tran am v8. My car turns on yet turns off right after. I came to the conclusion it’s my ECM. I have a ecm fuse yet it seems it isn’t connected right? Has a pink/black wire and it’s suppose to jump to another right. Like that’s why the fuse is there. Also my tpi sensor and mass flow aren’t getting current so I believe it’s the ECM or wrong? I was hoping someone can take a picture of the back wiring to insure myself or have any clues on what can it be? I replaced a lot of parts so I doubt it’s the injectors and etc. please someone have any ideas

Any fuses missing ?

Any connection missing? Ecm only has that pink/black wire?

Also what is this for?

Anyone see anything ?

Re: ECM NOT WORKING?!??

Good Grief Charlie Brown, you gutted the damn car to figure out why your ECM ain't powering up????

At this point my best suggestion would be for you to make friends with someone who knows automotive electrical a wee bit more than you do, who lives close, and beg them to help straighten out the mess you've created there.

Life is too short for me to take the days it'd take to try to sort that out one internet post at a time. Good luck, , , and thank flippin' GOD your not a Doctor........

Re: ECM NOT WORKING?!??

Lol. The car is still fully connected yet doesn’t work or seem to power on most sensors. Been studying and looking for faulty ground and no current in certain wires yet everything seems to be in place. I’m believing my ecu is just blown. My fuel pump
never turned on also I had to rewire it so yea. Bought the car this way. Also notice where the battery is suppose to bring a current of 12volts doesn’t seem to have any, runs as negative?

Take a look at the orange wire.

Orange should be 12v clearly nothing according to the diagram.

Re: ECM NOT WORKING?!??

If the ecm/fuel pump is lacking power your correct you won’t have 5v ref from ecm.

Re: ECM NOT WORKING?!??

I was told to check for the ignition part supposedly the ecm gets powered on by the ignition which sounds about right and will make sense. It’s the pink and black wire. It sends a current and turns on many of the wires yet I don’t know why some sensors don’t work. Also checked all orange cables which are supposedly send a current of 12v they get no current.

Re: ECM NOT WORKING?!??

From what I was told yes the pink and black power it on. Yet it doesn’t seem to power on other sensors. My pump relay doesn’t even work also but when I added my own relay under my dash every time I flick the switch I install it makes the original relay work. It’s weird also my mass and tpi don’t work. Yet the mass flow sensor relay has current and the relay doesn’t seems to turn it on or it’s like the ecu doesn’t work or send the current or “reading” man I’m lost asf right now lol. Haven’t touch much wiring just studying about it and it’s over the place rn.
