I have a 1227165 ECM in my 86 IROC 305TPI, and I want to try to swap ECMs as Im trying to track down some problems with the car.
Can I use a 1227169 ?

The only "acceptable replacement" ECM that I am aware of is the 16198259.

What is a 1227169? I don't have any cross-reference for that particular ECM, but it's definitely not for a MAF 1986-1989.

A cheap source for 165s are 1987-91 trucks w/ 2.5 4cyl TBIs. When I was checking wrecking yards for used 165s, this is the vehicle I tell them it's for...it's funny how you mention Corvette/Camaro/Firebird and the price doubles.

I saw it for sale at camaroz28.com, but the guy did not know if it was interchangable. It was listed under 3rd and 4th gen parts though, so I wanted to check as it was so close to my number. Guess that didn't mean a whole lot, LOL.

So, are there any good places online to find a replacement - and also, what is a normal price for a used one?
