T5 Gear driven vss signal to 40 reluctor vortec ecm
Im doing a vortec Swap and want to remain the t5 Manual . Mine got the gear driven vss on the tailhousing which gives if im not mistaken a 4000.pulse per mile signal .I would need a 40 tooth reluctor wheel for the ecm to work which is i think 80000 per mile . Is there a signal converter for this ? Or witch way is the best to grab that signal ?
am i able to use the original speedo on my 1990? Firebird
thanks a lot

My suggestion, buy dakota digital sgi100BT. it is a signal converter. install it and then you can adjust your speedo via your phone once you download the dakota digital app. I used it one on my black firebird and it had a t5 but previous owner swapped gear in the rear. So instead of trying to find gears for the tailhousing to correct the speedo, i wired the sgi100bt and boom, correct speedo. On my red firebird, did a t56 swap with 4.10 gears in the rear, again wired in a sgi100bt and now speedo read correctly. The great thing, anytime you decide to do rear gear changes, just log into the app follow the steps to calibrate the speedo and done. no need to change out drive/driven speedo gears in the tailshaft.
downside with the sgi100bt, calibrating can be a little confusing. i struggled the first time. but once i really sat down, read the instructions thoroughly and did the math, had it figured out and became easier to calibrate.

The solution i worked out is a 2.2 t5 40 tooth reluctor wheel of an 1995 s10 with the tailhousing of a 3.8 Firebird t5
but im unable to find a 4th gen tailhousing that could accept the sensor . Thanks for the reply
