ALDL same as OBD1?

On a 1988 5.7 IROC is the ALDL connector the same thing as OBD1 port that's located right under the steering column? I replaced my IAC valve and read that it will need reset through the ALDL connector. Thanks for any help.

Re: ALDL same as OBD1?

That is the right connector. Follow the fsm procedure to jumper the a to b and unplug the iac then set minimum idle speed. Will want to adjust the tps once set. The procedure is also listed on tgo in several areas.
