Will I need a new chip since I ...

Hello everyone, I recently purchased an eagle stroker kit for my '88 vette L98, I will be using the LT4HOTCAM, retaining the factory TPI intake, port factory heads, 1.6 r.r's. The car has a 700R4 tranny(shift kit), 3:27 rear, headers, all emission hardware has been removed, do not need to pass smog test, flowmaster exhaust, removed cats, my question is after the engine is installed, will the factory chip be able to handle the new cam etc. Will I need to get it re-programmed? The chip I currently have is factory with the vats, egr removed.

Most people get a chip first with a stock car then keep adding parts. I have an 85' with just about every componant changed

originally a 305 TPI car. I switched 10 a 355, AFR heads, cam gears etc. The car ran 13.0 on street tires w/ 2.0 69 fts I could have probably gone 12.7s with slicks. It ran well got good mileage. The computer chip probably helped with a stock car but probably didn't matter once I changed everything.

Your car should run fine. Wait until you are done with everything before having a new chip done. After you get rid of that stock intake(383 won't breathe with it).
