Lost Lost Lost

I have read the intro on how to burn my own proms and I still do not get it. I build and work on my own computers but do not understand this. Is there someone or a site that can explain a little better. Thank you.

What part don't you understand exactly? I didn't understand this stuff either the first month or so. Just sat back and tried to catch on to the lingo. Little by little, it started to make sense. You can't expect to know something so foreign the first time you look at it but the possibility does exist that you may not be able to understand it at all.

Read it over and over and over until you force your brain to understand it. I literally browsed this forum every couple of days for over a year before i jumped in and started to burn my own (i wasnt comfortable with doing it until i knew what i was doing (or at least wht im modifying)) but i can honestly say that my car runs so much better now, it used to run super lean but now its getting close to perfect and the change in how the car feels is tremendous, well worth the time and investment imo.

Just take your time and read as much as you can. You wont get it in a day... you wont get it in a week. I work on computers for a living. Been working with computers for17 years and all this stuff was like greek to me. If you dont have the equipment yet start there. Then get a hold of the software... Read read read...

Do searches on this board for words like "newbie" or "starting out". I know that might seem lame but it works well. Those posts may have people that are new to prom burning that have questions similar to ones you have. Its good for after you read and understand the intros...

Also actually doing is helpful too... Some times hands on is the best.

Ditto all the above post. It takes a while to get this stuff. The first piece of equipment you will need is some type of a scanner. Build yourself a cable, find a laptop, download Craig's software and start looking to see what your Block Learn Mode (BLM's)values are. Get an Idea whats going on first, then build from there.

I would suggest driving w/ a scan tool hooked up(over time).Once you see how the ecm work, you will start to understand things.Let us know how things work out.

I appreciate all of the info guys. It would seem to me that with the wealth of knowledge and burning on this board that someone could come up with what the code means and what effect a change does to each. I have done searches and someone said that doing is better that reading it. I think I will try that route. Just need to find a cheap laptop. Who sell the rest of the equipment? Thanks guys.

Yes, Traxions intro to prom burning is the place to start. Come back with individual problems.
