How the heck do I get my "Cold Start" idle speed up?
On a '92 TPI, when I start it up cold, the commanded idle RPM is always at 800, no matter what I change, it seems to always be 800 until it goes into Closed Loop. I would like to make it at least 1000rpms. I've changed the "Target idle Vs Temp" table making everything above 155 F set to 1000, changed the constant table for "IAC command speed open loop offset" to 1000, and it still reads 800. It wants to die at this speed and the IAC counts are around 90-100 at this time and it holds the idle right at the commanded rpms just fine, but would like to get it to 1000 so maybe it would not die as often.
Thanks

If I remember correctly the 800 RPM is hardcoded
within the software. There is a post about it on
this board. I don't have the particulars other
then that.
The post also gave the code location to change.

RBob is correct, the 800 RPM limitation (for when you put the car in gear) is "hardcoded" in the source code. I can't recall either where it is located. But, if you "dig around" some of the old posts you should be able to find it.

Thanks guys. So I guess that means that the "IAC Command speed Open Loop offset" and the "Target Idle vs. Temp" are basically only when the tranny is in PARK or the idle spped is below 800 in gear I assume.
