747 ESC test patch...

I just patched my current bin with RBobs "ESC test complete" patch.

I kinda expected the "ESC ready for 2nd power enrich" flag to be on all the time, but it's not. Will it ever come on?

Just curious what I should be looking for, if anything. Or do I just sit back and enjoy PE SA the first time I go to WOT?

Don't think that flag will ever be set. The patch sets the ESC test
completed successfully flag. That and it bypasses the PE delay
quals.

The ECM will now deliver PE & hiway SA right from the get-go.

RBob.

What is the point of the patch if you can just disable both the delay and the EST (knock also) tests with simple switchs. Or does the ecm require that the test be completed before any PE SA etc.?

I think the first time the ECM goes into PE mode it keeps advancing the timing until it detects knock, then retards the timing accordingly. I also seem to remember that you will not get any PE SA until this test has been passed.

As RBob said, it's sort of a crappy way of doing it.

This way WinALDL won't record the knock performed by the ESC test. And I won't turn the timing down in places that are not trouble spots.
