Flashing a 29c256 chip from tunercat through ALDL

I have just received a Craig Moates adapter and flash eproms. My software for my pocket programmer is the old rev for DOS and I don't have the $$$ to upgrade it yet so I can flash the new chips and don't have the time to figure it out with the old software.

SO, friend of mine mentioned(he's a LT1 guy) that maybe you could flash the chip through the aldl port like you can on the LT1 94+ ECMs.

Has anyone tried using tunercat's flash feature on their new rev to flash the bin into a '730 ecm?

Thanks,

You cannot flash chips via ALDL on the 730

Beat on the Xtronics guys. Tell them that it's bogus that they want you to pay to get a system you paid good money for to work with something that isn't new. If I recall, the old version was advertised to work with the 29C256. It just didn't...

I may try that...thanks Craig...I had never thought about it that way.

I'll pass on that you can't flash through the ALDL on a '730...

Although this is a 93 ECM in a 69 Z w/LT1...so is it still a '730? I assume it is, just wasn't sure.

No it's not a 730, but you still can't flash it...

Unfortunately, the time it takes to program a FLASH device is too long for the time that the ECM needs the information. There are other means of doing this though.
