ok now first off I already did a search and found almost everything but what I am looking for. I want to see what some of you guys are using for a timming curve. can any one attach a picture of there timming curve? I want a base to see when and how quickly I should have my advance and when to bring in the timming. this is just a starting point and would like to see a few to get a good start. also I have an 88 tpi 350 5 spd with mods like cam, gears, headers and runners ect. this should not matter because like I said I only need the Idea where to start

Timing tables are nothing near universal.
It's just as well to start with a stock table and work out what's best for your car.

Yes, this is a real table,
low timing, turbo appliation

ok, thanks for the responce but when you say they are no where near universal I agree... With a question that I thought I heard or read some where that a "chevy 350" usually in mild form likes ?? 30+ total timing. and a certan rpm you sould back off timming I know I don't have the right numbers. this what I read some where. I think it was from a recurve kit for a mech advance on the old HEI distributors.

Combustion chamber size has a huge effect on timing needs. The bes performance I got out of a set of L98 heads was at 28d. The timing themagazines quote are misleading. And even the GM catalog is somewhat of a joke. For any currrrect generation of head there is no real NEED to run 34d of timing. Lots of guys are running real well at 28-30.
