Idle RPM while in drive (didn't find answer in search)
Idle RPM while in drive (didn't find answer in search)
FInally got my idle rpm and BLMs looking good at idle, but only in park/n. Once I put it in gear the BLMs change. I knew they would because of load, and I've gotten them close to 128. The problem is the idle speed. I notice on Datamaster that the Idle RPM says 850RPM which I have programed in the chip. But once I put it in gear it wants to idle at 800-700(to low), and Datamaster reports this. How do I change the in gear idle speed using tunercat?

Then, set the desired idle speed while in drive in the 'Desired Idle Speed vs Coolant Temp.'
When in park a wire, (orange and black I think, don't remember the number) is grounded and that's when the Idle Speed Adder in Park/Neutral comes into effect.
This is assuming your tuning an '88 but I believe other years tune similar.
