newbie here

Guy's, I'm about to get into the prom burning thing and will also be buying a new laptop. My question is about new operating systems. Can I get tunercat or somthing similar that will work with microsoft XP? In addition will I run into any problems finding a programer to run on XP? I would like to buy an older laptop with win 98 but can't find a decent deal anywhere, hence my question. Any suggestions?

gmgod,

Are you looking for scan tool software also? Ease makes scan tool software for Win2000 that works with XP. The Ease site is http://www.obd2.com or http://www.easesim.com If you do need a scan tool I rep for Ease part time. I can get you a rebate of 10% of your purchase if you order through me.

As to fdisking the HD and installing Win98 to avoid using XP, I'd try making a multi boot disk with both OS's. You may want some of that XP multi-media functionality later.

Depending on the model of laptop, you might also consider buying a second cheaper or used HD to install Win98 on and swap in when doing vehicle work.

Thanks for the replies guys. So I will need win 98 for sure then? Thats not a big deal but I just need to know so I can get it when I'm at a relatives next weekend. Also, I'm assuming tunercat is a programmer from your replies. I will check into ease for scanning software. Thanks again.
