Turning for 700R4->TH350
Turning for 700R4->TH350
I was just wondering if gains can be made in tuning after a transmission swap. I am talking about a speed density motor. Does the VE vs. MAP vs. RPM requirements change? Went from a 700R4 with 2400 stall and 3.27 gears, to a TH350 with a 3000 stall and 3.70 gears. What else can I change to gain improvements
Thanks

Changing the stall speed alone changes just about all the mid and low range stuff.
The 700 goes from 3.06 to .7 in gear multiplication.
350 has a 2.6 or there abouts first gear, and high gear is 1 to 1.
The engine will be working intirely differently, load wise, and cruise stuff is day and night different. Could wind up being rather large changes.
i have a different opinio that if the tune was right to start with for fuel and spark the only really good place to make change will be in the ve adder tables and pe enrichment. the engine is still gonna need x amount of fuel at x load. cuase its still gonna flow the same amount of air. spark timing might need a tad of tweakign maybe a llittle more advance before teh stall to help with throttle response but i dont think anything to radical.
i would first put in the tranny and see where yr at.
