Link cable question for Craig Moates Software
ok i downloaded craig motes software today and have a question about the interlink cable. I have a friend that works for casper electronics and he thinks they have the cable i need. I told him i needed a 12 pin aldl to serial port cable. Is there somethinge else he needs to know to be sure and get me the right cable? would it be the same cable that would be used to conoect to a gn cuz thats what they specialize in.

Hey in case that doesn't work out for you, I have a brand new, never used cable that i bought from http://www.geocities.com/steve3034/cables.html It is the first cable on the page "Fully Assembled Cable" I payed $65 for it a while ago but decided to go with a scantool so I have no use for it. I'll let you have it for $40 if you're interested.
Let me know,
Stephen
EDIT: There's more to this cable than just 2 connectors. It has a short male serial port cable with 2 wires on the other end of it that you tap into the ALDL with. That cable is left in the car so you can remove the rest of it. Off of that you plug a female serial connector and that cable goes to a parallel connector. After that is a small black box that has a circuit board inside it (I don't know the exact purpose of this...maybe someone else can elaborate). Off of that is another parallel connector that turns into the serial connector. That is the end that plugs into the computer. Hope this helps with any confusion.
