ford injectors now pinging????

i installed 8 21# ford injectors in my 88'. i am running an 89' AUJL stock bin. the problem i am having that i am getting slight pinging when i got WOT. i have no access to a scan tool so i can only assume that the car is running lean maybe??? what do u guys think? according to the calculations it should be running just fine?

my original 88' AYBA bin was set for 23# injectors?

ford 21# @ 39.1(2.7bar)= 22.78# @43.5 psi

GM 22# @ 43.5(3.0bar) = 22# @ 43.5 psi

You have to change that.
Other wise you'll have no clue as to what to do, unless you want to devote all your time to learning plug reading. And you can spend years just doing that.

tuning, by what do you guys think, just gets lots of maybes backed up with I thinksos. Hardly the way to tune an engine.

What is your base timing set at? Is it the same as before you swapped the new injectors in?

yup it's still @ 6 BTDC i double checked it to make sure it's didn't move or something. i band aided the problem. i am "simulating" 23# injectors. by running my injector constant @ 22.06# (read above for more details on ford injectors and ratings). the car has gained some more power so says the butt dyno and the the two black tires marks @ 35 2-1 down shift. the pinging is almost non-existant. woo hoo i'll get some 24# injectors when i get some more money. that will have to do for now........ w/o a scan tool
