Recommendations on EPROM Programmers

What are some recommendations for EPROM programmers? I contacted the company that sell the Pocket Programmer 2 times and never got a reply from them! I am looking at getting something else as their customer service sucks.

The only dilema I am facing is that I live in Australia and we have different voltages 240V @ 50Hz. I asked Xtronics if they also sell power adaptors for the Australina market but like i said never heard anything from them. They do sell EPROM programmers here in Australia but for the same Pocket Programmer they want $450AUD which is $252USD and that is too much seeing Xtronics sell them for $149.

The other option I have is to buy a DC power adaptor that will supply the correct DC Volatge and AMPERE. How much does the pocket programmer need anyone who has one could you have a look what kind of power needs to run? That woudl be great then I could check out my local electronics store to see if they have something that would work.

I need the programmer to be able to do AT29C256 (flashable) chips as well as the 27C256 and 27C128 and that is what I will mostly use it for. Any other programmers around the $150USD with good software around??

Check out EPROMER5 at www.ustr.net they're pretty reasonable and customer service is real nice. I'd bet they could hook you up pretty quick and make recommendation on power adapter as well...

Although, while I love to take a stab at the 'big guys', I think that the PocketProgrammer is a good quality product with good support. They will give you the runaround sometimes, but they make good by and large. Plus they are a small outfit, so holiday stuff or just general domestic duty can keep them from getting back to you fairly easily.

I'm very new at this and know very little, but I can help you with the voltage for the pocket programmer II. It's 9 VDC, 250 MA. I read this off my pocket programmer power supply.

The epromer5 says it will run off a 9v battery for 2-3 hours, the pocket programmer might be able to also seeing that it is a 9v unit.
