need help with burning chip

I need some help, PLEASE. i have a 91 RS with the 3.1L V6. I want/need to burn a new chip for my new engine. I don't really understand all the stuff on this topic so, if there is anyone who is willing to communicate a little to help me out, I sure would appreciate it. I don't even know where to start ( which route to take on equipment, get another chip or use stock one, how exactly to hook stuff up, how to program it, how long it takes, etc........).
