LV8 values

In the tables for the 89 vette, I see those LV8 values that should represent the load. However, I can't in anyway relate these figures to load. What exactly do they mean ?

Thanks

LV8 = Airflow / RPM

The greater the airflow the higher the load. The greater the RPM the lower the load. And vica-versa.

Does the ecm compare the measured values against those mentioned in the airflow vs rpm table ?

Thanks
