EPROM eraser

Ordered my programmer today and went to place the order for the UV eraser from Digikey only to find that they are out of them. Anybody else another option for similarly priced units? (around $50)? Thanks....

EEPROM substitutes for a 2732? I'm using the 1227747.

Hey Craig! Quick question for ya. What is the best scanning software I can get for my car (730 ecm) that is Win'98 or Win XP compatable? I got the heated o2 (not installed yet) and I'm using chip 26 constant. The car is still running on the rich side and I'm still having that surging idle problem, but other than that, it runs like a raped ape! I put 6 to 7 links on an LS-1 Trans-Am and thats with the car running that rich! How much more ponies do you think I'll have to gain when I get the PROM straightened out?

With your setup, you should be able to spank those LS1s like newborn babies!

You can try my software (it runs in a DOS box out of Win98) or there's Datamaster which is nice.

Surging=IAC issues? Should be around 15 or so when warmed up on IAC counts.

Try that 27 chip & lean it out a bit. Just watch your plugs for scalding. Hit your O2 with a multimeter on WOT & look for 870 +/- 30. Not the best, but at least it's some info...

Hmmmm,My brother has a 02 Ram Air with nothing more than a muffler, air lid and thermostat and pull 12.6 110mph trap speeds in a 3700 lb car - thats about 410 at the flywheel.

Thanks Craig. You don't think 27 inj. con. would be way off for the 24 lb SVO's? I think I'm going to keep the 26 and keep the fuel press where it's at and just tune VE tables when I get my programmer. Where can I get Datamaster? Is it a whole scanner or just a program that I would need a laptop and ALDL cable to use it?
Thanks Again!
Mike

That '01 TA that I raced had all the bolt-on's and exhaust, he said he run's 12.8's. Also keep in mind that I put 6 car links on him with my little 3.23's gears, stock suspension, no traction, and the motor running pretty rich.

When I get my PROM straight, 3.73's, LCA's, and some sticky's, 11.80's should be VERY possible if not probable. As soon as I work out the bugs, I'll have dyno #'s to back it up!

Well, after realizing that these erasers are just a light bulb in a box, I've decided to just make my own. I picked up the fixture for less than $6 at Home Depot (it's even battery powered so it's portable). I found the shortwave UV bulbs online for $16 shipped. All I have to do is fab up an enclosure with whatever I have laying around the garage. I'll end up with about $25 and little time invested in it.

UV Eraser, Datarase, Data erase

I ran into the same problem when trying to by the data-rase from Digi-key.

Am posting this for the benefit of others that run into the same problem:

The sales guy at Digi-key told me that the manufacturer is out of business (died, actually).

I wound up getting one from the following company.

Not a bad price if you get the Internet special, but being the true DIY'er and cheap bastard I am, I like the $25 option.

More power to you- good luck with it. Was mainly posting so that others had the info available.

Remember not to let the light shine in your eyes or on your skin. It is bad news stuff. Same said for pets and kids (unless you really don't like them!) Kidding.

Cheers!

Yup, 'tis nasty stuff. It will have an interlock switch so that the unit can only come on with the lid shut.
