to stack a 16K bin into a 32K bin..
have a copy of the bin on C: drive.
in dos at c: prompt.
copy b/ 16k.bin + 16k.bin 32K.bin
example.
copy b/ malibu16.bin + malibu16.bin malibux2.bin
malibux2.bin will be your combined bin file located on C:

Ok I was putting them in wrong I think, now I cant get it to program, again it gives the same error message as stated before.
It is also telling me when I read the chip that it is all FD's not FF's
how can I erase the chip before programming? I also tried my other chip incase I messed up the first one and get the same thing.
I am so screwed up any ideas???????????????????

Bet you have it inserted wrong in the zif. the at29c256 is 28 pin, the zif will take up to 32 pin chips. make sure that you put the chip to the rear of the zif, ei leave the first two rows open (pin1 and pin 2, 17,18. However, as I have done this myself, be aware that the eprom may have fried. place it correctly and see if you fill it with FF's

I get the same error message. My BIN is a 32K so I don't have to stack it. It will erase fine and it reads all FF's however it will not program. I am also using the 29C256's. I have one that wont erase, does this mean its fried? I inserted them wrong, but I had one with a BIN on it and when I fixed it and put it in right it read the BIN fine, erased fine, Blank checked OK but just won't program.
