Modifying the ARAP bin..
Hi, I've been readign these boards for a while now and learning as much as I can about prom burn since i'm just starting up, now I'll finally post a thread, hope I dont get flamed to hell! lol.
I had a couple of questions on the ARAP.bin. I heard that the ARAP bin has by far the best MAF table to grace a prom, but the timing on the arap are the devils playground, and I'd be knocking like crazy.
My question is, is it possible to take the MAF tables from the ARAP and just use stock fuel and timing ables from another prom? Or is it harder than just that? What would I have to change to make the ARAP usable.
Has anyone made a hybrid ARAP that can work with a 305 TPI?
And one more thing. Is the ARAP the best or is there another one out there?
thanks a bunch.

There is a similar post to this, PLUS this has been discussed many times. Do a search on "ARAP" and read, read and read.
Yes, you can "graft" the ARAP MAF tables onto a stock $6E bin. There is actually a few that various people prefer (again, read the archives).
Alternatively, you can just modify the ARAP bin. Typciallly, you set the "N/O Switch" for the fans, modify the "crank pulses" and tone down the spark tables on the ARAP bin. Again, read up, this has been discussed plenty of times.
If you chose to "graft" the MAF tables to a stock $6E, then you need to be careful. There are "counters" and "limits" that are embedded between the tables that are also needed. These are NOT displayed by any Bin Editor that I am aware of, but they are most certainly there and a part of the MAF Scalar tables. (One the reasons you only modify MAF tables if you REALLY know what your are doing) If you just copy the 6 MAF tables from the ARAP bin, you will miss these and your MAF tables won't be properly set.
