STILL have XP issues!!!!

I still cannot get the pocket programmer to function on my laptop. I have a dell 8200, have tried all the tricks with plugging it in and out whith and without the software open etc... I have downloaded userport, closed all other apps, gone through it all, and the damn thing still won't work. I know the unit is getting power (it gets warm) I just dont know why everyone else can seem to get XP friendly except me?? any ideas?

Several months ago there was a batch of Pocket Programmers that were bad. I had to send mine back because it didn't connect to any operating system I tried.

ya, I spoke with a guy at transtronics who told me something along those same lines. He even said that with the new software Userport can actualy hinder not assist the operation of the PP2 software. I am sending it back for a new one, I will let ya know how it works out. thanks.

your BIOS should have several settings for the type of parallel port.

have you tried them all?

You've got Mail!
I have a Dell 8200 and a 2805 Toshiba PIII as well as a working programmer. I have used the Toshiba for burning and datalogging. I take the Dell to work and have not tried Prom burning on it yet, but I could(check your mail).
