Pocket Programmer II programming speed

Can someone tell me exactly what I need to do to slow down the programming speed using the PP2 software. I'm trying to program 2732A's and it was suggested in another thread to slow down the programming speed, but I'm not sure how to do it. Thanks....

Using the DOS PP software, typing 88 will bring you to a hidden menu. Option 6 I believe is the pulse length time. Increase that value to increase the programming time. An older 2732 should take about 200 seconds to program if you follow the datasheet (I'm assuming the programming pulse length is about 50ms for each location - this value varies by manufacturer and part).

Thanks.... the DOS software works without modification. I can't get the windows software to work at all. I was wondering what settings I should try in the Windows software. I've fiddled with it some but haven't found a working value yet and was wondering if I was fiddling with the proper parameters.

I don't have the windows PP software, so I can't you help you much there. Grumpy is always harping about making sure there aren't any background processes running in Windows while using PP. Something to check out perhaps?

Yeah, I've killed all background processes, tried it on an old 133 MHz P1 laptop, a new 1 GHz laptop and a 700 MHz P3. All three yeild the same results.... the chips will not program with the Windows software but if I use the old DOS software I can get them program. I only have this problem with 2732's... all other chips work fine so I was hoping maybe it was just a programming speed issue.....
