Maybe a bad question but.....

My 406 runs better when it is in closed loop. Little if any off idle hesitation, popping, etc. But closed loop enters and everything changes. Lots of tip in issues, popping out the exhaust, etc. The O2 sensor is 6 months old. My Blms are anywhere from 122 to 132. Am I missing something? Shouldn't the car run better when the ecm is correcting with the o2 sensor? Thanks

128s only signify, having the light load fueling correct.
Timing can still be miles off, as well as any of the higher level fueling requirements, as well as transistional fuel.

128s are a start, not a sign of completion.

OK, so I assume that timing at part throttle changes with closed and open loop?

there could be some sort of tempature based spark adder that your overlooking thats in play when your in open loop and not having these troubles. typiclly when you hit closed loop alot of the cold run mode and open loop spark adders turn off.

There are three tables that may be affecting that.
Open loof F/A ADDER VS TEMP.
--------------------------VS MAP.
BASE COOLANT ADV.COORECTION VS. LOAD VS. TEMP.

It is a comp cams custom 240 240 hyd roller 112 lsa. I converted an LT1 intake, so it is probably the same or very similar to the mini. Also, I have 30 lb SVOs.
