Hi, I just ordered the Moates adapter so I can swap chips in and out easily but id didn't come with any instructions. I have no idea how I am supposed to squeeze this adapter, plus my memcal all back into my ECM. What goes on the extra prongs jutting off the side? Does anyone have any pics?

The oem memcal presses onto the adapter pins sticking out the side. You want to use the memcal pins NOT related to the eprom.

The adapter allows for piggy backing the oem memcal to use the knock filtering, and netres chips of the oem memcal.

The large 28 pin chip under the blue cover, is the eprom, and the one you want to bypass.

What did you guys do about the lid? It won't fit on now due to the protruding chip...

I left mine off.

When all tuning is done, (maybe never), I will remove ZIF and plug chip direct into adapter.

I'd rather not leave it off. I don't want part of the chip prongs to touch the frame or something. Any other alternatives?

Grumpy,

That rubber cable on your second plug on the ecm; is that an ALDL cable?

If so you just gave me an idea of hard wiring my aldl..
