ECM logic
ECM logic
Is there anywhere where someone has translated the $8d hac into something that someone with no machine language experience can understand? Or do I need to learn machine code?
There are a few specific questions I have now, but I'm sue I will have more as time goes on:
1) Do BLM, INT, and fine fuel all have the same relative effect? If Fine fuel is at 130 and INT & BLM are at 128, is the ECM fuelling the same as if BLM is 130 and fine fuel and INT are 128?
2) How fast does INT update? Fine fuel?
Thanks

1) no. BLM is a "coarse" adjustment, INT is a "fine" adjustment. Someone has posted in the past (maybe glenn?) a rough conversion from INT to BLM, I seem to remember it being on the order of 1:5 or so (DO NOT quote me on that, pulling from months old memory only).
2) depends on the calibration. I don't have tunercat in front of me, but on '730/$8d I think the BLM updates every 2.5 seconds by default (again don't quote, memory only). INT is much faster.
Not sure how to advise you on the machine language experience (assembly). if you plan to be doing this stuff for a while, learning assembly will help you greatly. as grumpy and others have pointed out - once you can write your own source, you can make the ECM do ANYTHIGN you want, just about.
I'm just not sure what you could translate it in to, anyways.
