Wide band and Highwaymode :)

Well this WB is awsome!! Previous to the wide band I had set the AF in Highway mode to 15.4 and 4 deg of spark advance. Well after seeing what was happening with the WB (or should I say what was not happening), I really changed some of the values around to get it to AF in the 15.4 to 15.6 range.

Now I have the commanded AF set to 16 and 7 deg of advance and it is dialed right in!

I am curious to see what happens to my mpg. Hey, the dayton trip would be a great test!

For now I am going to stick with closed loop, when I get more experience I may tinker with open loop tune.

Now to work on the overly rich AF during PE

Hi, NovaSS, I'd like to ask which WB you are using. Some of your past & present questions are difficult to answer unless the particular WB in use is known.

Units respond differently to various inputs.

I am using the DIY WB with the L1h1 sensor.

The DIY-WB tends to overshoot on transients. This can be good if using a display. But needs to be watched for when using a fast data logger.

Still a really decent tool for the cost.

While on the subject, could anyone give me their thoughts on the following WB kits? I need one to use with my Holley Commander 950 setup. I desire a display as well as an output for the C950 ECU, simultaneous, of course.

1) FJO Inc (uses NTK WB 02 sensor)
2) techedge V2.0 (uses cheaper $100 or $35 VW-type Bosch WB O2 sensors)

I don't care about cost as much as I do service, proper calibration, reliability, etc. The TECHEDGE site did look rather good and I like the "synthesized liner output" feature of the new 2.0 version. Should give more resolution to the sensor output, i.e. usable AFR now over a wider voltage range.

Thanks, guys.

You won't find many reccomendations on the Techedge stuff here. Peter's design was copied (stolen) from a design put togther by some members that post here along with others from another diy-efi list.

If you have an NTK sensor the FJO is a decent unit (well engineered). The problem today is getting NTK sensors at a decent price.

If you are starting fresh (no sensor yet) get the unit from Innovate Motorsports: http://www.innovatemotorsports.com/

These guys are the on the ball. A really nice unit with good engineering behind it. It comes with a Bosch sensor included in the price.

As far as the Techedge, what a POS. I've seen the design, scary stuff.

You have USED the innovativemotorsports unit??? Does it work well? Anyone used it to supply a stand-alone EFI (Holley, DFI, etc.) a WB signal?

Seems like a very reasonable price. Uses the cheaper Bosch sensor, too, eh? I hope it is acurate enough. I really wanted a stand-alone display that I could mount somewhere in sight. But, this unit could be moved from vehicle to vehicle, which I am quite sure will happen...
