Another stupid question, which way does the eprom go in the programmer

Another stupid question, which way does the eprom go in the programmer

Does it matter? how do you tell. IN other words one way, or 180 degrees flipped around?

Yes, it matters.

Pin one of the eprom/eeprom is the top-left pin if you're holding the chip vertically with the notched end up.

The notched end of the chip should match the notched end of the ZIF (or whatever your device holds the chip with).

Well honestly I dont remember seeing a notched end. I put the chip in the programmer and it said "device not recognized". I turned the chip around and it went fine. I put it in the adapter and the ECM the same orientation and it ran fine. Now I just have to figure out what the heck all those table mean, haha.

the chip has a notched end, no doubt about it. Look closely. sucky ASCII picture below.

chip:

zif looks kinda similar.

when placing the chip into the adapter/memcal, the notch should go towards the outside of the adapter/memcal.

Here ya go Larry. I have my adapter and chips layin around in my office room while I build the new motor.


Edit: its the 1/2 circle and arrow on the Left side of the chip.
