Pocket Programmer keeps saying device not erased

Whats up guys, tonight for the first time, I tried to test a chip out on the pocket programmer. But when I click the button to see if the device is erased, it keeps telling me that the device is not erased. I have had it in the datarase II eraser for like 35 minutes so I do not know what the problem is. Also, the chip I have is M27C128B. Is the the correct chip?

Thanks Guys, sorry if these are stupid new guy questions
Tim

All I can say is to try calling the manufacturers and see what they recommend. I'm not sure if that is the right chip. I never used a datarase eraser either.

do you have to correct chip type selected in the programer software?

i think I do. I have selected the 27C128 in the programmer. Do you think I bought the wrong type of chip? my chip number is M27C128B, Do the M at the beginning and B and the end of the the chip number mean anything?

Thanks
Tim

Read the 'erased' chip and scroll through the buffer. Erased you should see all FFs everywhere. If not, it's not erased.
