Diabling VSS

If I'm not going to use the VSS in my application of the 1227747, do I just leave the wire for it unhooked and adjust table values and constants to not allow the functions associtated with the VSS to enable? Or should I hook the wire to ground or ground it through a resistor?, etc....

I just left it unhooked on mine. Haven't noticed any problems.
