WBO2 Hac not playing nice

I installed my WBO2 the other day. I then downloaded the hac from

http://www.eecis.udel.edu/~davis/z28/WB_hacs/

I am using the $8D AXXC

I then changed the constants over to what I was already using and burned the chip. The car starts up fine, but I get a CEL. Datamaster will not connect. If I switch out proms, it connects just fine

Any ideas?

The wide band hac WILL produce a CEL. The CEL means nothing. Wierd but true. I already talked to Mike about it. Just think of it as a feature If you see the CEL then you know you have the hac installed.

Not sure why datamaster won't connect though ... mine connects fine. I'm running the AUJP though.

Thanks for the reply Tim, its reassuring to know that i installed the hac correctly.

Now to figure out why Datamaster won't connect with that chip installed......

since the WB unit I bought came with a narrow band output, i ran that to the ECM in place of the stock O2 sensor and am getting BLM's in the 90's. I can't seem to get the integer to quit jumping around at all. I even went so far was to start over with a stock bin and am getting nowhere......

I guess all the tools in the world won't help if you don't know how to use them

btw, idle iranges from 13.9:1 - 14.6:1 AFR on the WBO2 display.

Cruising around shows 14.5:1 or so

WOT ranges from 10.4:1 - 11.7:1

so yeah, I think I'm running a tad bit rich

Well I tried the AUJP bin and it works.

I used the AXXD values for VE and spark tables. Its still running a bit rich which I expected.

Idle is off because I'm using a auto bin on a manual car. Any suggestions on changing that over???

Thanks

Just to keep myself updated

I copied all of the menus over from the AXXD to the AUJP bin and now everything works the way it should.... sans the shift light.

Now with the WB dataloggin, I can safely start pulling fuel and spark or vice versa as needed.

fun fun

Hi ...I am having the same problem. It doesn't matter what type scanner I use the problem is still there (Datamaster, OTC, Diacom ) all have no data when using the WB hac w/AXXC downloaded from Mikes' site.
I too, have tried the AUJP and got it to work but not the way I want it to.

I guess I got lucky, I have an auto so I used his AUJP and changed everything to match my current bins variables and it works fine. The output is there to, I'm using a laptop with TunerPro RT, not a scanner.

I too am going to use the NB output ffrom my WB box to replace my stock NB for a couple of reasons but I won't be buying it for another month or so now so bear in min I'm doing all this with my NB still in there. I just wanted to be sure the codes worked for me first...

I e-mailed Mike but he never got back to me so I gave up and just used the AUJP.

I expect it's a difference in the code itself. ANHT and AUJP are both $8D, but for some reason there is an offset in the location of the subroutines at the end of the code. Apparently there are a couple of extra lines in the code somewhere which throws all the addresses past it off by a few. AXXC probably has a similar offset.

There's more detail on this problem in the "8D PW limit fix" thread.

Jaysz28,

Which wideband setup are you using? I'm looking into the AEM wideband or the Dynojet. Any suggestions? I like the AEM because it has a programmable 0-5v output, but the WBO2 patch is for the output of the DIY sensor (Bosch).

Wow this is an old post......

I am using an Xtronics kit and I'm not sure of the type of sensor. I gave up and just moved on LOL

Might have to try it again now that I'm using TunerPro instead of Datamaster
