Cannot connect to ECM

Can someone tell me what I am doing wrong? Please!!!!
I cannot connect to my ECM ALDL!! Let me explain, whenever i use any of the bins available from the (efi-tuning or efi-diy) sites or the stock bin (aujp.bin) all available aldl software wont connect errors like: interface detected but no pcm connected or no pcm sync. But there is one bin that is different it is the AXXC 8D.bin. This bin connects but there are checksum errors and unrecognizable data,so whatever info i get is erratic. Now here is the confusing part my car runs on all of them but I do not know what is happening !! Please help me with this!!!!!!

Could you post the following info?

I'm presuming you are using a '730 ECM...since AUJP and AXXC are both '730 cal's...AUJP by the way is an automatic calibration, AXXC is a 305 5spd calibration..

1) What software are you trying to use to read the ALDL port?
2) what cable do you have?

I am using a Mastach interface and I have tried all aldl software . Oh! Yeah, I forgot to mention that my laptop does not have serial ports so I use a usb to serial adapter.

so I use a usb to serial adapter.
I use the Mastach cable with Datamaster with no problems whatso ever.

The USB adapter may be the issue. Try using someone elses laptop with a serial port to see if you can even connect. This would be a quick test to eliminate the problem.
