timing?

i'v been having a problem w/ the car backfiring out the exhaust. i have a auto ex -ray scan tool. i noticed when cruising my Block Learn are 125-140. my spark advance is 55-60d.

my question is-do u think my spark advance is too much?

Only by a factor of 2.

Backfiring, can be caused by any number of things not limited to, exhaust leaks, to rich or lean, too advanced or retarded of timing, or poor combination of decel enleanment settings.
