Building New ECU Files

Is there anywhere on line that has a Dummies Guide to generating new ECU Files, and DataStreams?.

You could download a copy of the current TunerPro from Mangus' site, and click on the Help menu drop-down or press F12.

You then have an intro to TunerPro that tells you what you can edit in an ECU.

If you then go into the Search function on the left of the help screen ("Type in the keyword to find") and search on "ecu editor" you'll get a "Bin definition item editor" topic that you can click on.

This then tells you the differences between the Header Info and the Item Info.

If you've got this, plus a copy of some obscure thing (written by a bloke who doesn't know enough about static injectors and toluene) called Programming 101, or a GM "Caldata" sheet that specifies the header and item contents, I think you have enough.

This isn't the "dummies guide" you asked for, but it's got to be almost good enough for Sleepy and Doc hasn't it?

As for the ALDL stuff, dunno.

Want to be more specific on what you need or need done? I'm pretty familar with the ecu file format. Actually I'm pretty good at it since I had to make the ecu file BEFORE Tunerpro had his ecu editor.

It's just for some stuff that I use, it'd be convient to go with on the fly for some quick incar tweaking.
It's how you tell the editor what corrections/math to use that had me lost. Guess, I'll just poke around more. I was just hoping there was a guide somewhere.

Maybe I should put a "real world example" tutorial in the docs. Yeah... thats the ticket. I think I'll do that.

If you open the file up in notepad scroll down and you should find /*mulOrDivOrBit . 0 = multiply by the factor, 1 = divide, and 2 = bit for like options/switchs.
Does that help?
Oh, and it's really picky with the spaces and formatting.
